About
Built by an independent GI practice, for independent practices.
We run a private gastroenterology practice. Like every independent practice, we are being pitched AI tools for scheduling, documentation, coding, collections and more, with big promises and very little detail.
Why we built this
We learned the hard way that the questions that matter most are rarely answered on a vendor's website. Does it actually work with our EHR, or does it need a workaround? What happens if the integration fails? Will we be billed before it ever goes live? We once paid a vendor through an implementation that never worked, because the product could not integrate with our system.
Large health systems have IT departments and procurement teams to sort this out. Independent practices usually don't. CurbsideStack is our attempt to share what we have learned, and to collect what other practices learn, in one place.
What we focus on
- EHR integration, rated honestly. How each tool connects to your EHR, from a native API to a browser extension, with gGastro called out specifically because so few tools work well with it.
- Return on investment. Whether a tool reduces overhead, increases revenue, or both, and how strong the evidence is.
- Payment risk. When billing starts, whether anything is due before go-live, and whether you can exit if the integration fails.
- Company stability. Who owns the company and how it is funded, so you can judge whether it will be around in three years.
Our principles
- Vendors cannot pay to be listed, ranked or featured.
- Every listing says where its information came from.
- We never publish what an individual practice pays.
- Vendors can always review and correct their listing.
What's next
We are starting with gastroenterology because it's what we know. Other specialties will follow.
